Your Portfolio, Your Brand and Leveraging Social Media

When it comes to doing things to raise our profile, many of us are hesitant.

“It’s not appropriate.” “It’s too aggressive.” “My work should speak for itself.” A “Personal Brand”? What…? Me? Do I really need one?

Worse, we procrastinate on pursuing and using social media tools to promote our achievements. As writers and trainers we master technical information and devote endless hours to learning complicated software but are reticent to pay as much  attention to promoting ourselves.

Whether we work internally or consult externally, we need to:

  • build a portfolio that stands out, specially in the current economic and competitive climate
  • utilize the best of the social media tools
